After Care

A little attention, beautifully repeated. Keep your human-hair wig soft, manageable and ready to wear with a gentle routine that respects both the hair and its delicate construction.

This guide is for human-hair wigs. Follow the care instructions supplied for your particular piece, especially for coloured hair, textured styles and specialist caps. Ask for guidance before treating a fibre blend as human hair.

01 · Detangle with patience

Work in small sections, supporting the hair above each tangle. Ease through the ends first with your fingers or a suitable wide-tooth comb, then move gradually upwards. Never pull against the lace. For curls, preserve the pattern with gentle finger-detangling; avoid repeatedly brushing dry curls. If a knot resists, stop and loosen it carefully rather than forcing a brush through.

02 · Wash when your hair needs it

Let wear, perspiration and product build-up guide your washing routine rather than following a rigid daily schedule. Detangle first. For a removable wig, support the cap and rinse in cool to lukewarm running water, keeping the hair directed downwards. Use a small amount of cleanser suitable for processed human-hair wigs. Smooth gently through the lengths, rinse thoroughly and avoid vigorous rubbing, twisting or piling the hair into a ball.

If your piece is bonded or professionally installed, follow your stylist’s removal and washing instructions before attempting to take it off.

03 · Condition the lengths

Apply a suitable conditioner mainly to the mid-lengths and ends. Keep it away from knots, lace and attachment areas unless your piece’s instructions say otherwise. Follow the product’s timing and rinse well. More product is not always better: heavy residue can leave hair dull and difficult to manage.

04 · Dry gently

Blot with a soft towel without wringing. Support the cap on a suitable ventilated wig stand and avoid stretching it while damp. Allow it to dry thoroughly before storage. If the hair needs blow-drying to restore its finish, follow its specific instructions and use controlled, gentle heat. Never put a damp wig in a closed box or on a radiator.

05 · Protect before heat styling

Use a heat protectant suitable for your wig and let it dry as directed before applying a hot tool. Choose an adjustable tool and the lowest effective setting within the supplier’s limit. Keep straighteners, curling tools and hot combs away from lace, knots and the cap. Avoid repeated passes; do not use straighteners or curling irons on wet hair. Coloured or lightened pieces may need extra caution. There is no single safe temperature for every wig.

06 · Give lace a gentle touch

Handle the piece by its supported cap rather than tugging the front edge. Avoid scratching, hard brushing or stretching the lace. Ask an experienced wig stylist about cutting, colouring, knot bleaching or adhesive removal. If adhesive is used, follow the product and installer’s removal instructions; never peel off firmly bonded lace. Stop if the lace starts to tear or a fitting causes discomfort.

07 · Store with shape and space

Rest a clean, completely dry wig on a suitable stand away from direct sunlight, heat and dust. For travel, arrange the hair loosely in a protective bag or box without crushing the lace. Reduce friction from rough collars and tight accessories. Remove a removable wig before sleeping where practical; follow your installer’s instructions for a bonded style.

When your wig needs a little more attention

Persistent matting, unusual shedding or damaged lace deserves individual advice. Avoid experimenting with bleach, strong solvents or high heat. Contact us about care and describe the piece and the concern. This guidance supports everyday care and does not limit your statutory rights if an item is faulty or not as described.
